How to Write Non-fiction
Non-fiction books are amongst the most popular books sold in the book industry. These types of books are normally written by experts but do not let this word "expert" put you off! If you have been a coach for 20 years then you are most definitely an expert at coaching so there is no reason why you can not write a book on being a coach! There are numerous things that you need to think about when writing a non-fiction book such as:
Read other writer's work
Read stories other writers have written and learn about techniques that they have used.
Learn proper grammar
No matter how good your story is you must ensure that the proper grammar is used and commas etc are used in the appropriate places.
Assess the book subject
It is essential that you assess whether the subject you are going to write about provides enough material to make up a book.
Will your topic attract readers
You need to assess whether your book will attract members of the public as well as stockists. It is important to note that self help, how to and do it yourself books sell very well.
Break the subject down
Once you have chosen your subject then you must break it down into about 10 chapters and write about 3,000 words in each chapter.
Break the chapters down
Once you have created 10 chapters then you must break the chapters down into 10 sub chapters. Then write about 3 or 4 paragraphs on each of these sub chapters. When you complete this you will have completed the first draft of your non fiction book.
